About the book
Camille Ellis has gone rogue agent, and there’s no turning back now. The conclave might have put the Charybdis case to bed, but Cam isn’t willing to let it lie. No badge doesn’t mean no backup these days.
As mate to an alpha warg, she has access to new and lethal resources. A whole pack full of them. And they all want justice for the sins committed against them.
But the stakes are higher than she knows, the secrets exposed darker than she feared, and the cost of winning higher than she ever imagined.
The Review
I was so excited to get an ARC for this book and even though I had agreed on what to read next, I have to bump that aside to read this book as I just needed to know what will happen to Charybdis.
The story picks up where book 2 left off. Cord has chosen to leave Bessemer’s pack and some of the defected Wargs who are loyal to him are coming along. Cam needs all the help she can get to also locate her cousin and her aunt who have mysteriously gone missing, no thanks to Charybdis. The conclave seems to be running investigations but without great results. It’s now up to Cam to call in her least favorite cousin Theo to help.
This, of course, brings up old squabbles and rivalries which in order to survive they must put aside. Charybdis is getting closer attacking the people Cam loves, which puts the pack on edge.
Cam will need to figure out what exactly Charybdis wants before more lives are lost and she must also come face to face with her past and the secrets that have been kept from her.
What did I think?
I think this book was my favorite in the series. I took my time to read it slowly as I was sad that this part was going to end. The twists in this book were mind blowing as I never really expected things to turn out how they did.
I really liked the characters in this book, Graeson was the best, his jokes and comments were so good. Kudos to the author for that.
Dell, I found very annoying sometimes but also I think I liked her openness and strength.
It was nice to see Thierry again, albeit for just a short time but I think this paves the way for the next part of the series which I can’t help but be impressed with how the author executed that.
Charybdis as a villain was really awesome, he had that creepy edge that made you watch your back all day every day. He was one of those that it pretty much stomped me about how he could be defeated.
I like that we finally got to meet Theo and in all honesty, I think I like him more. Hopefully, the next chapter of the series will allow us to get to know more about the pack members.
Truly a series worth reading…..
