I really liked this book. It started out a bit slow but it soon picked up. It was a really quick and easy read.

I really liked Ava and she was a fantastic character. She was really sweet and came across as a bit naive but it worked for her character.

Ava’s relationship with her foster mother was beautiful. I really liked it but when I found out what her mother had done, I was so mad.

The mystery surrounding Kelsey’s death was really interesting and just when I thought I had it all figured out, the story turned upside down and confused me all over again. I like it when a book does that though, I like to be shocked. It wasn’t predictable in the slightest.

I thought Amanda was a brilliant character. She was a bitch yes and she was super mean but the character development was right on point.

I don’t feel like Lia was much of a character. She felt a bit flat and boring which was annoying and I didn’t like the Jackson and Lia storyline. I felt like Lia should of fought for her best friend a bit more but I guess thats how teenagers can be sometimes. The rest of the characters were really well developed and interesting so I wasn’t too annoyed about Lia.

And wow, the ending. I wasn’t expecting that at all! I’m not going to spoil it but it was a really brilliant way to end the book. I didn’t predict the ending at all, it never even crossed my mind.

The writing was amazing and it was a really easy read. For a debut novel, it was really good and I think Kara will go far in the writing world.
