But they quickly realize that this assignment is more complex than it seems, and before it is over they will have encountered everything from mimes, ninjas, and pirates to one ultra-sinister mastermind, whose only goal is world domination. 

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Incredible writing style (funny, witty, intelligent, etc etc) and equally strange story. The story (and writing style) takes some time to get used to, but the book captivates from the start. The only downside, in my opinion, is the rather fast and a bit unoriginal last act. Read it and enjoy the gone-away world!
