The Cozy Life – Book Review

The Cozy Life is a cute, short book about the concept/feeling of hygge and how to bring it into your life.

Note: I’m NOT sponsored to write this review, I just really loved this book

I found out about hygge through a random news article my sister-in -law posted to Facebook a few weeks ago. I fell in love with the idea and immediately began researching it online. One of the first things I found was this book, and since the price was amazing ($4!) I bought and devoured it in only a couple hours!

What I loved most about this book was how many personal touches it has and that it allows you to fully immerse yourself in it. The author is a woman who was born and Denmark and then moved to Vancouver when she was 5 years old. After having something similar to a quarter life crisis, she noticed she felt like something was missing, so she decided to bring hygge into her life again. She tells you personal stories and even includes a story from her father about hygge. It makes it feel like you are sitting down with a good friend while reading.

I also love how she goes above just explaining hygge and telling you about it, but she also shows you ways to bring it into your own life. She leaves pages blank to fill out with your feelings, loves, and ideas. She also gives you traditional Danish recipes to use, which was a favorite for me because I love trying foods from different countries and cultures. She also gives you tips and a list of little everyday ways to feel hygge, which is very helpful.

I could tell a lot of love went into writing it, from the cute little pictures through out to the amazing personal stories. It’s been a while since I’ve read book that has made me smile and feel a happiness while reading it, but that’s exactly how I felt while reading. If you’re interested in hygge or finding a coziness and happiness with yourself and home, please give this book try!

After reading this, I’m now looking forward to the cold Michigan fall and winter because I can do some of things mentioned in this amazing book. So if you’re ready for fall, grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte or tea, a blanket, and cuddle up with The Cozy Life.

I hope you enjoyed this! Have you heard of hygge before? It’s such a sweet, warm concept.

If you liked this then please like, share, and follow to see more.

It’s not all about one or the other; you can be brainy and into books, while also being into beauty and fashion. There’s no reason whatsoever to push yourself into a certain category. She also emphasizes that beauty has to do with both the inside and out.
