Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was absolutely perfect. A must read for those who grew up with the books. It will make you cry; It will make you laugh. But most of all, it will make you smile. Smiling as your love for the series years ago comes right back like it never left.

I grew up with the Harry Potter series. I remember back in 1998 reading the first book in 7th grade as part of a book report project followed by the summer where I immediately read through The Chamber of Secrets and The Prisoner of Azkaban in three days. I was immediately sucked in.

After that I went to all the midnight releases at Barnes & Noble and all the midnight releases of the movies. The final book came out the summer before I went off to college. The series ending as my childhood ended was bitter sweet. It was truly sad to see everything come to an end.

So, you can imagine the excitement I felt when I heard the for me the Cursed Child was coming out.  Yet, I didn’t know what to expect as I didn’t want to ruin something so perfect. I knew J.K. Rowling wouldn’t let us down and that she didn’t. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was perfectly amazing. If you are like me and scared reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will ruin your amazing memories of the series growing up – DON’T. Grab the book and start reading  – should only take you about 3 hours to read. Everything about this book/play is truly perfect.

Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
