The Infinite Sea – Book Review

The Infinite Sea

I seriously loved The 5th Wave and I have been dying to read this since then. I can’t really say much about the plot as it will give way to much away but there are many MANY twists and turns and I loved it so much I can’t stop fangirling!

Hyperion – Book Review

I finished reading Hyperion on the plane back home. This again is a (1989) book I had not heard of until I saw it in the Gollancz 50 series (which delivers at a low price the “best” 50 books in science-fiction and fantasy, like Patrick Rothfuss’s The Name of the Wind and Gene Wolfe’s The Book of the New Sun. Its only drawback being a vivid and ugly yellow color! I don’t often read space opera sci-fi; however, this book is a masterpiece that completely deserves its inclusion in the Gollancz 50 series.

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? – Book Review

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me

So, full disclosure: I’m a pretty big The Office fan, and I watch The Mindy Project. So, yeah, I like Mindy Kaling’s brand of humor. It’s sort of self-effacing in a girl power-ish kind of way. Clockwork Angel

This one was a tough pick for rating between 4.5 and 5. I’m not a big giver of 5 stars, so I had to really think about this one. And it was a hard choice, but my rating would go to 4.5 stars. That’s not to say that it was a bad story, it was amazing. Totally on my all-time faves. :)

–If you have not read the book, avoid soilers by only reading the bold text–

Ahh, this was everything I expected it to be and more.

My disease is as rare as it is famous. It’s a form of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, but you know it as “bubble baby disease.” Basically, I’m allergic to the world. Anything can trigger a bout of sickness…and so I stay on SCID row. I don’t leave my house–have never left my house.

Everything, Everything is a story about Madeline, a girl who has SCID, meaning if she ever was to step outside her house, the unfiltered air, someone’s perfume, something normally edible for most people but she ingests could trigger symptomatic attacks that could potentially kill her.
